Emirati skydivers shone at the FAI World Cup of Canopy Piloting, which concluded in the US amid broad international participation and fierce competition between seven of the world’s top teams: France, the UAE, the USA, Italy, Australia, Germany, and Britain.
The UAE team ranked second overall with 2085.037 points, earning the silver medal behind the French team, who took the championship gold.
The American team placed third, winning bronze, followed by Italy and then Australia. On the individual level, our skydiver Camilla Mihand won the bronze medal in Accuracy.
Nasser Hamouda Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, expressed his immense joy — and that of the air sports family — at this achievement, which adds to the federation’s record of successes. He extended gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, for his continuous and unlimited support of sports in general and air sports in particular.
For his part, Youssef Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation and President of the Asian Federation, praised the UAE team who achieved in this global competition, stressing that the train of achievements continues to surpass milestones of success on the way to global leadership in the sport.
Hammadi said these successive results reflect the attention given by the Ministry of Sports to parachuting and prove that the federation is moving on the right track, in line with the aspirations of our leaders and athletes.
