Nigeria’s David Bodebi once again stamped his authority after winning the third world title at the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Mr and Ms World Championship kicked off in Fujairah on Sunday.
Bodebi dominated both the professional and open-weight categories to emerge winner again.
Finland’s Mika Sihvonen finished second while while Belarusian Ilya Lukovich took third place.
Dr Rafael Santonja, President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, crowned the amateur and professional category winners of the Mr and Ms World Championship on the final day held at the Zayed Sports Complex.
The presentation ceremony was also attended by Engineer Mohammed Obaid Bin Majed, Director of the Fujairah Department of Industry and Economy and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the two championships, Ali Bin Haidar, Vice President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
The championships achieved unprecedented success, featuring a record participation of more than 920 athletes representing 116 countries from across the world. They delivered high-level physical and artistic performances that thrilled the large audience present.
In the under-95 kg category, UAE athletes continued their winning streak, with Ruwad Walid claiming the top spot in both championships.
His compatriot, Bodam Abakori, finished second, and Iraqi athlete Mohammed Jabbar took third place.
In the Classic Physique category, Iranian athletes dominated the top three positions, with Saeed Moradi in first place, Timur Ayni in second, and Farshad Valibur in third.
In the Physique category, French athlete Thierry Baiyala won first place, followed by Iranian Boria Diqani, and Italian Otman Loulali in third.
In the Women’s Physique open category, Russian athletes took the top three positions, with Diana Shevichik in first, Kristina Lakievich second, and Angelina Sobinina third.
On the individual awards front, Zuwaid Salmeen received the best UAE national team coach award, while his compatriot Jassim Al Ali won the best team coach award.
Olympia Gym from the UAE was named best team at the two events. Notably, these three awards were introduced for the first time in the 2025 edition.
