Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasised the role sports play in instilling a culture of positive competition, promoting sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles in society, and fostering values of rapprochement and communication between cultures and peoples.
Sheikh Mohammed was speaking while attending the closing ceremony of the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Mr and Ms World Championship at Zayed Sports Complex in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBBF); Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, and Dr Rafael Santoga, President of the IFBB, Engineer Mohammed Obaid Bin Majed, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee.
The Crown Prince of Fujairah, praised the commitment and continuous support of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, for the sports sector, stemming from its role in supporting the comprehensive development process, and Fujairah’s commitment to providing support and infrastructure to successfully host various sports championships according to the highest standards of quality and competitiveness.
He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee in ensuring the success of this edition of the championships and all previous ones, commending the technical and organisational level of the tournament’s outcomes.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed his pride in the remarkable success achieved by Fujairah, extending his thanks and gratitude to the Crown Prince of Fujairah for his continuous patronage and support of sports in Fujairah, which had a great impact on the outstanding organizational and technical success of the event, expressing his immense pride in Fujairah’s global achievement.
Engineer Mohammed Obaid bin Majed, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, considered the praise received by Fujairah as an international testimony to the UAE’s excellence in organisation, administration, and technical standards.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, along with a number of dignitaries.
The prestigious championships witnessed the participation of an impressive 920 athletes, both male and female, who represented 116 countries from across the globe. This remarkable gathering of talent brought together some of the finest competitors on the international stage, reflecting the truly global appeal of the event and underscoring its significance as one of the premier competitions in the sporting calendar.
