A number of senior citizens participated in the "Dubai Mallathon " initiative organised by the Emirates Society for Parents Care and Relief, Dubai branch, in collaboration with its strategic partners, in a lively and health-focused sporting atmosphere.
The event witnessed wide and positive participation from senior citizens, who enthusiastically joined in walking activities in a lively, health-focused atmosphere.
It attracted more than 400 participants of all ages and various nationalities, creating an atmosphere filled with joy and positive energy.
The community initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage all segments of society to adopt sports as a way of life.
Nasreen Ali Bin Darwish, Board Member of the Emirates Society for Parents Care and Relief and Chairperson of the Dubai Branch, affirmed that this large participation of senior citizens reflects their awareness of the importance of physical activity.
“Sports are not limited to a certain age group; they are a lifestyle that helps enhance both physical and mental health. The enthusiasm we witnessed today from senior citizens sends an important message that age is no barrier to participating in sports and community activities.”
She added that the association is keen to organise such initiatives, which contribute to the happiness of senior citizens and integrate them into community events, enhancing their quality of life and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
