UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan made a surprise visit to the Abu Dhabi Summer Sports events at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on Friday.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed is keen to support community and sports initiatives that promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage the community to practice sports in an integrated and safe environment.

Videos shared online showed the UAE President interacting with community members participating at the events.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed also took photographs with children participating in various sports activities.

This visit confirms that sports are a national priority and a pillar of human development.

Now in its fourth year, the event is aligned with the UAE Year of Community, encouraging Abu Dhabi residents to lead healthy lifestyles and engage in physical activities within a fully air-conditioned and comfortable indoor environment during the summer months.

The authorities said that Abu Dhabi Summer Sports serves as a vital platform that contributes to enhancing quality of life and promoting concepts of fitness and physical activity, calling on everyone to seize this opportunity to enjoy an active and joyful summer.

The event features 12 sports: football, basketball, padel, running, badminton, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, cricket, chess, fitness, and an obstacle course.
