Following the incredible success of the past two editions, this prestigious IFBB Mr and Ms World Championship is set to return next month. Top athletes and fitness enthusiasts from across the globe will converge at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah when the three-day event unfolds on Oct.3 and ends on Oct.5.
The prestigious championship for amateurs and professionals will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
Details of the IFBB Mr and Ms World Championship were revealed during a press conference held at the Novotel Hotel in Fujairah on Tuesday.
The organizing committee of World Amateur and Professional Bodybuilding Championship (Mr & Ms World Fujairah 2024) shared the details during the media briefing.
The event will be held in collaboration with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed, head of the organizing committee, Ahmed Naasan, CEO of C5, Faisal Ahmed Obaid Al Zaabi,Powerlifting World Champion and Member of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness Board, addressed the media.
Registrations and weigh-in for the amateur and Elite Pro will take place on Oct.3, on the opening day at the Zayed Sports Complex, with physique, classic physique, bodybuilding, and fit model categories in focus.
On the second day, the bodybuilding, physique, and classic physique competitions for amateurs will be held.
Following this, the professionals’ competition will take place on Oct.5.
Sheikh Abdullah and Engineer Mohammed Bin Majed extended their congratulations and blessings to the UAE leadership on the 50th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, assuming the rule of the Emirate.
They also expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his generous patronage and visionary leadership, which have led to significant advancements in all sports, including bodybuilding.
Sheikh Abdullah hailed the support of Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Department of Industry and Economy, whose guidance has elevated bodybuilding events in Fujairah to a global standard.
Eng. Mohammed Bin Majed revealed that the organizing committee has registered around 760 athletes, including 231 professionals, 347 amateurs, and 182 women, with registration still open.
International judges have been invited, in addition to UAE-accredited bodybuilding and fitness judges.
The amateur bodybuilding categories include four weight classes: 75kg, 85kg, 95kg, and the open category. In physique, there are height categories of 173cm, 179cm, and an open category. In classic physique, the heights are 171cm, 180cm, and an open category. For women, the height categories are 163cm, 169cm, and an open category.
