Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women's Sports, hailed Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports, on the occasion of International Women's Day for her significant role in championing women's sports, both within the UAE and globally.

Sheikh Jawaher has been a steadfast advocate for upholding the dignity and significance of Emirati women's roles in society.

Through her unwavering support, she has empowered them to seamlessly integrate into the community, actively contributing to its growth and elevating the UAE's reputation globally.

Hanan, underscoring the crucial role of the Sharjah Women's Sports and Sharjah Women's Sports Club, highlighted their impact on empowering women across the UAE, particularly in Sharjah.

“This success stems from the unwavering support of Dr Sheikh Sultan and the visionary directives of Sheikha Jawaher, which played a pivotal role in empowering Emirati women in general and Sharjah in particular.

“The Sharjah Women's Sports recognises women as the bedrock of the UAE's progress, especially in sports.

“We nurture a cadre of sports leaders; the Sharjah Women's Sports ensures a future generation of strong female leadership in the athletic arena.

“The organiSation discovers and embraces talented athletes, providing unwavering support throughout their entire athletic journey.

“RecogniSing the importance of academics, the foundation creates conditions that allow women to excel in both studies and sports, outlining a clear path for success in both realms,” Hanan added.

She emphasiSed that Emirati women have been and continue to be partners with men in building the state's institutions since the union was established in 1971 until today.

“Their contributions have secured a strong presence for women, earning them a well-deserved and prominent place on the global stage alongside the UAE's rising stature.”
