Second edition of UAE Storm Games makes perfect start in Fujairah

The second edition of the UAE Storm Games 2024 kicked off in Fujairah. Organised by the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the competition is taking place at the Fujairah Beach Hotel and Resort.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, graced the opening day.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Crown Prince of Fujairah for the generous patronage and unlimited support for the organization of the tournament in its second edition, confirming that the emirate of Fujairah has become one of the distinguished destinations for organizing fitness championships and their practice in both training and competitive aspects.

Sheikh Abdullah also stated that the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation is keen on innovation, aiming to develop its sports and promote physical fitness.

He anticipates the introduction of new ideas, particularly in fitness, in future editions, tapping into the unique infrastructure and picturesque environment of Fujairah.

He confirmed that the fitness committee of the federation is actively working to promote the culture of sports participation and organize tournaments across various emirates.

“The organization of fitness championships in Fujairah aligns with the wise leadership's vision in the UAE to enhance sports as an ideal lifestyle, with a special emphasis on physical fitness for its role in achieving sports sustainability,” Sheikh Abdullah added.

180 athletes representing 44 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Britain, America, Brazil, Spain, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Spain, Canada, Iraq, Mexico, France, Syria, Morocco, Canada, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and others, are competing in the second edition of the UAE Storm Games.

The strong start of the tournament is attributed to the presence of elite players from the UAE, the region, and some international countries, including Emiratis Ahmed Bin Dhabi Al Falasi, Badr Al Noori, as well as Luka Dukic from Serbia, among others.

UAE Storm Games offers a sum of Dhs265,000 as cash prizes that will be presented to the winners of the first places in the nine categories of the UAE Storm Games.

The event features nine competitive categories for both genders.
