UAE and Saudi federations sign MoU to promote bodybuilding

The Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and the Athletics Committee of Saudi Arabia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The signing ceremony of the MoU between officials of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and the Athletics Committee of Saudi Arabia took place at the University of Sharjah.

The agreement aims to improve joint sports cooperation in developing bodybuilding and fitness sports in a way that is consistent with the qualitative shift seen in the two countries.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Farshid Soltani, president of the Asian Powerlifting Federation, Tatiana Romanova,

Secretary General of the Asian Powerlifting Federation, Faisal Al Ghais Al Zaabi, Powerlifting World Champion, and Member of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness Board of Directors, Abdul Aziz Al Marri,

Executive Director of the Saudi Athletics Committee, Professor Eid Mohammad Kanaan the Dean of Students' Affairs at the University of Sharjah, Salah Al Ameri, the technical secretary of the federation, Abdul Majeed Yazbek, and a number of other dignitaries.

The agreement allows the exchange of arbitration-related experience, the organization of competitions, the organization of training camps, the holding of physical education lectures, and the participation in competitions that are organized in accordance with the competition schedules of the Asian Powerlifting Federation.

Zaabi hailed the support and patronage of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness, which enabled in creating a favorable environment for the growth of fitness sports.

Marri said that the qualitative leap witnessed by the UAE in the bodybuilding and fitness sport and its successful outcome paved the way for working for joint cooperation and serving the sport. He noted that future meetings on the horizon will be held to strengthen the terms of the MoU.
