EBBF president Sheikh Abdullah crowns winners of UAE Storm Games in Fujairah

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, crowned the winners of the UAE Storm Games, an impressive international CrossFit competition.

The two-day event attracted 148 athletes, including the best athletes of the UAE and other parts of the world, and was held at the iconic Tennis & Country Club Fujairah.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his continued support, and the exceptional infrastructure that the emirate boasts to host world-class events, which paved the way for the success of the fitness competition.

"The UAE Storm Games witnessed a high level of competition with the presence of top-class athletes taking part in it," said Sheikh Abdullah.

Sheikh Abdullah praised the efforts made by the iconic Tennis & Country Club Fujairah in hosting the event and thanked Abdul Ghafoor Behroozian, Chairman of the Fujairah Tennis and Country Club.

He also hailed the efforts of members of the organizing committee, including Ahmed Bin Dhabui, Janjak Abdullah Al-Kiswani, Ahmed Al Ali, Mohammed Al Omda, and others.

Hania Reggi, general manager of Tennis & Country Club Fujairah, expressed her delight over the successful role of the club in hosting the first CrossFit competition. She also urged that the doors of the Tennis & Country Club Fujairah be open for athletes from the UAE and outside the country to make the most of their top-notch facilities.

Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the General Sports Authority, Sheikh Sultan Bin Saleh Al Sharqi, witnessed part of the competitions in the presence of Faris Dakhil, CEO of the Saudi Federation for Bodybuilding; Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al-Marri, Secretary-General of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness; Obed Ahmed Al Kabi of Fujairah Scout; Tariq Abdullah; and a number of other dignitaries.

Each competitor's strength, endurance, and functional skills were put to the test during the competition's seven separate categories.

The top five competitors from each division engaged in a fierce workout in the final to determine who would finish on the podium.

Serbia’s Luka Dukic won the elite men’s category title, while Sara Sigmundsdottir took top honours in the women’s category. Monika Pawlak dominated the intermediate female final, and Eduardo Rangel won the intermediate men’s event.

In the team category, the Liftdex Black finished on top with players from Britain and Ireland in the squad. In the local category competition, Badr Al Nouri and Ahmed Al Shehhi topped the results. Salem Al-Ali, Ibrahim Al-Shamsi, Salem Al-Khayal, Rashid Al-Ansari, and Jassem Al-Balushi were impressive in their performances.
