Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Khan Afridi took to social media on Saturday and wrote a heartwarming note for his beloved daughter Ansha Afridi, who tied the knot with young pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The Nikah (marriage) ceremony of Shaheen and Ansha took place at Zakaria Mosque in Karachi on Friday.

Pakistan cricket team skipper Baber Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, Sarfaraz Ahmed and other celebrities were among the guests at the ceremony.

Taking to Twitter, Shahid Afridi posted a touching note for his daughter.

"[A] daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart," he wrote.

The former player said he gave his daughter in Nikah to Shaheen and congratulated the newly-wed couple. 

The post has been viewed by 1.3 million users and garnered hundreds of well wishes and prayers from fans and followers. Shaheen and Ansha were engaged two years ago.
