UAE’s Salem Saleh leaves for Czech Republic to take part in Prague Masters Championship

UAE’s Salem Abdulrahman Mohamed Saleh is among the top players who will compete in the Prague International Masters Championship.

Top Grandmaster and Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club player Salem Abdulrahman Mohamed Saleh left the UAE on Monday to participate in the Prague International Masters Championship.

The capital city of the Czech Republic is hosting the International Chess Festival, which promises to be a highlight in this year's chess calendar.

The championship will take place from Tuesday, June 7 to June 18, with the participation of the 10 best players in the world.

Salem Saleh is accompanied by Ukrainian Grandmaster Pavel Eljanov as the trip to the Czech Republic is sponsored by the Sharjah Sports Council.

This year's tournament brings together a selection of Grandmasters with a rating average of 2,693 points, making it one of the strongest competitions.

Top names taking part in the Prague International Masters Championship include Vidit Gujrathi, Sam Shankland, Parham Maghsoodloo, Quang Liem Le, Francisco Vallejo Pons, Pentala Harikrishna, David Anton, David Navara, Salem Saleh, and Thai Dai Van Nguyen.
