Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Deepak Chahar married his longtime girlfriend and fiancé Jaya Bhardwaj in a private ceremony in Agra on Wednesday.

The Chennai Super Kings' player and IPL sensation Chahar shared the good news by posting his first wedding photo on his Instagram account with a heartfelt note for Jaya.

"When I met you first time I felt that you are the one ☝️ and I was right . We have enjoyed every moment of our life together and I promise you to keep you always happy like this 🤗. One of the best moment of my life. Everyone pls give your blessings to us," Chahar wrote in the caption alongside the picture.

Chahar was ruled out of the just concluded Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) because of back injury.

The right-handed batsman and pacer had hurt his back in the T20 series against West Indies. Since then he has spent months at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru working on his fitness and recovery.

After the marriage ceremony in Agra, the wedding reception set to be held in New Delhi, where expected to be in attendance are top Indian cricketers and officials, including Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actress Anuksha Sharma.

Chahar's cousin, Rahul Chahar, who is also a cricketer, took to Instagram to share a photo from the wedding, alongside the caption, "Happy married life you two... Soooo happy for you and all the good wishes .. wishing you an amazing married life. Loads of Love ❤️"

During IPL 2021 in Dubai last year, Chahar's theatrical proposal to Jaya Bhardwaj had gone viral on social media platforms, as he was seen placing the ring on Bhardwaj's finger, who was in the stands of Dubai Cricket Stadium, followed by a warm hug.
