Dubai to host more than 20 sports events this week including World Aerial Gymnastics C’ship

The World Aerial Gymnastics Championship, has attracted more than 300 of the most celebrated aerial gymnasts.

Dubai will host more than 20 sports events this week, including the World Aerial Gymnastics Championship in Expo 2020 Dubai’s Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing Hub, and the Oceanman, which will feature more than 300 international participants.

The Oceanman will take place at Umm Suqeim Beach on March 12, with the magnificent Burj Al Arab providing the backdrop to the open-water swimming race.

Oceanman Dubai, organised under the aegis of Dubai Sports Council, will see competition in five different events – the 10km Oceanman with 150 participants; the 5km Half Oceanman with a maximum of 300 participants; the 1.5km Spring with 250 participants; the 3x500m Oceanteam and the 500m Oceankids.

The World Aerial Gymnastics Championship, meanwhile, will bring more than 300 of the world’s most celebrated aerial gymnasts – including participants from countries like Poland, Russia, Ukraine, US, Kazakhstan, and Hungary — to the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai for three days of breathtaking action from March 8-10.

Action will continue in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, which is a part of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup qualification process, with hosts UAE and teams from Oman, Namibia, Nepal and Papua New Guinea playing a total of 13 matches in Dubai from March 5 to 22 to earn crucial qualification points.

The other events taking place this week are: the 8th DIBC Open Bowling Tournament (Feb 27-March 13) at Dubai International Bowling Centre; 2nd Dubai Police Club Tennis Championship (March 4-13) at Dubai Police Officers Club; Dubai Fishing Competition 2022 (March 9-13) in Dubai Harbour; World School Games (March 10-12) at Inspiratus Sports (March 10), Hamdan Sports Complex (March 11) and The Sevens (March 12); Dubai Corporate Games (Mar 12-13) at Inspiratus Sports; Dubai Pulse Off-Road Cycling (March 12) in Canal Residence; Spartan Deka Fit (March 12) in Business Bay Canal Lawn; Run at Meydan Tracks (March 12) at The Track, Meydan Golf; Gymnastex Annual Artistic Gymnastics Competition (Mar 12) in Jumeira Baccalaureate School; Countdown to the Middle East Crown Boxing Series 3 (March 12) in the Grand Ballroom of Conrad Hotel; AJP Tour Dubai International Pro Jiu-Jitsu (March 12-13) in Shabab Al Ahli Club; Spinneys Family Fun Run Series (March 13) in Circle Mall; GRIT+TONIC Triathlon (March 13) on Mamzar Beach; and the Dubai Challenge Polo Cup (March 13-20) at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club.
