Tennis and Country Club Fujairah marks National Sports Day in style

Tennis and Country Club Fujairah (TCCF) demonstrated its steadfast commitment to the UAE’s national strategy for wellbeing and promoting healthy, active lifestyles by participating in the 7th National Sports Day festivities.

The National Sports Day is being held every year in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to specify a sports day in which all sports, physical and heritage activities are practised.

Held under the theme ‘The UAE Unites Us’, Tennis and Country Club Fujairah organised swimming, cricket, kids’ tennis, table tennis, kickboxing, paddle tennis, tennis, gymnastics, and squash competition attracting wider participation from prominent public figures and sports personalities.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi also graced the occasion and took part in the sport activities.

The Tennis and Country Club Fujairah’s participation in the National Sports Day, which was first celebrated in 2015, aligns with its goal to increase awareness of sports, its health and wellbeing benefits, which positively impact society.

Kickboxing, a modern combat sport, and gymnastics for kids also drew a number of participants.

The young gymnasts performed acrobatic exercises on a special apparatus and demonstrated incredible balance, strength, and body control.

At the end of the events, the participants of National Sports Day were presented with medals and trophies.

Abdul Ghafour Behrozian, chairman of Tennis and Country Club Fujairah, expressed delight over the success of the National Sports Day festivities.

Behrozian also expressed his pride at being a part of the National Sports Day festivities in its ongoing mission to help realise the vision of the UAE’s leadership by continuing to support aspiring athletes and wider society.

“The Tennis and Country Club Fujairah organises a lot of sports and other extracurricular activities to mark special occasions of the UAE and world which bring the community together in Fujairah.

“The UAE National Sports Day promotes sportsmanship, unity in diversity, and tolerance among people from different countries, and drives a message of togetherness through sports,” Behrozian added.

Sharief Habib Al Awadhi, Director General of the Fujairah Free Zone, Chairman of the Executive Committee for National Day of Fujairah, was the guest of honour for the UAE National Sports Day celebrations at the club.

“Practicing sports and making it a way of life will remain a top priority for our leaders as reflected in the unlimited support, initiatives and programmes that have had a great impact on spreading the awareness of the importance of sports, '' said Awadhi.

Hailing the success of National Sports Day activities held at Tennis and Country Club Fujairah, Awadhi said: “This had reflected positively on the success of the event and the many positive messages it sent. Such events promote the vision of our wise leadership.”

Hania Reggi, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at Tennis and Country Club Fujairah, said: “The National Sports Day brings together various sporting and fitness communities under the UAE flag and emphasizes the value of leading a healthy lifestyle through participating in various physical activities.

“Regular physical activity is important for a healthy lifestyle and the Federation places significant importance in both leading by example and promoting the mental and physical benefits of exercise,” Hania added.

She also thanked Al Sharq Hospital Fujairah for organizing a free medical check-up camp and ensuring the health of the members and visitors of the National Sports Day event.
