Eight Arab nationals in fray as draw made for Saudi International qualifier in UAE

The draw for the UAE qualifier for PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers has been published.

The 36-hole event will be held on January 26-27 over the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

The event is open to all affiliated professionals around the world as well as all Arab national golfers having a handicap of scratch or better.

Tee times are from 7am to 9:33am from the first tee.

42 professionals have entered and eight Arab national amateurs are in the field.

In the Professional Division household names include Paul Dunne (Ire) and Dubai based MG Keyser (RSA) who plays on the Asian Tour as well as many local professionals who are part of the UAE PGA: including David Gray (UAEPGA) and Steven Munroe (ADGC).

Saleh Al Kaabi (Qatar) and Ahmed Naim (The Els Club) are amongst the leading contenders in the Arab National Division with other players from Egypt, Lebanon and Kuwait).

There are four more Arab National Amateur spots to be allocated that will be confirmed in the next 48 hours.

The top two players in the Professional Division and the top two players from the Arab National Amateur Division will win invitations to play in the $5 million PIF Saudi International on the Asian Tour to be held at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club, KAEC, Jeddah, from February 3-6.

The four players who will qualify will join an impressive field of international golfers who have confirmed their entries.

The Saudi International is the first tournament on the 2022 Asian Tour Schedule.
