Top polo players of the country will compete in the UAE National Day Cup 2021 to be held at Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club on Friday.

In honor of the country's 50th year of the Spirit of the Union, the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club (GRPC) will host UAE National Day Cup 2021 on Friday.

To be held under the patronage of Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, the exhibition match to mark 50th UAE National Day, brings together elite polo players of the nation.

Hamad Abdelrahman Alshaikh, Executive Director of the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club, said: The club is happy to join the country in commemorating the spirit of the union through our UAE National Day Polo Game.

"National Day, the UAE's official yearly event, draws the UAE's diverse nationalities together in a unified celebration of inclusion and tolerance.

“Every year on the 2nd of December, the UAE leadership and people commemorate UAE National Day, which exemplifies the founding leaders' national resolve and the commitment of the country’s devoted sons to propagate the notion of the union,” he added.

Ghantoot A will lock horns with Ghantoot B during the UAE National Day Cup. Ghantoot A features Sheikha Maitha Al Maktoum, Mohammed Al Habtoor, Nasser Al Shamsi and Youssef Bin Desmal.

Ghantoot Polo B comprises Sheikha Alia Al Maktoum, Faris Al Yabhouni and Tariq Albwardy.

Taking place in association with Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the UAE National Day Cup is the second event of the club's new season calendar.

Later, the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club will host the prestigious Emirates Polo Championship International from December 20-31.

In line with current government protocols, measures will be in place within the stadium and throughout the club to ensure the health and safety of all.

Abu Dhabi Sports Council is the governing partner of the event which is sponsored by CAPEX.com, who officially announced the continuation of its partnership with Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club.

National Archives, Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center, Tadweer, Emirates Heritage Club and ENZO have also collaborated with the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club for UAE National Day Cup.
