Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club in association with the UAE Marine Sports Federation will organize the Ajman Sea Festival this weekend.

Ajman Sea Festival comprises two different marine sports activities: the Emirates Jet Ski Marathon – Ajman Tour on Friday at Ajman Corniche and the Emirates Moto Surf Championship – Ajman Tour on Saturday at Al Zorah Marina 1.

The event will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development.

This year’s competitions have attracted a large number of participants and a strong level of competition is expected.

The competitions include three different categories: professional category, adult category, and open category for all age groups. The Emirates Jet Ski Marathon – Ajman Tour and the Emirates Moto Surf Championship – Ajman Tour are considered as the most dynamic challenges for jet ski racers as they require a high fitness level, special physical and mental preparations, and specialized equipment for this type of activities.

With regards to the festival, Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, stated that this year’s editions of the Ajman Sea Festival is witnessing a great interest from the marine sports enthusiasts and the general public, while also stressing on the department’s continuous efforts to support all sporting events and sponsor multiple activities and initiatives in Ajman which help in boosting all its vital sectors, and contributes to the development of the emirate to become one of the leading world cities that hosts unique touristic and sporting events.

He clarified that organizing the Ajman Sea Festival to include the Emirates Jet Ski Marathon – Ajman Tour and the Emirates Moto Surf Championship – Ajman Tour events comes as part of the department’s agenda to reinforce tourism across the emirate where such activities are of great interest to both locals and visitors, in addition to promoting Ajman as a host city which is able to hold important racing events in the region.

Geziry confirmed that Ajman Tourism seeks to enhance its collaboration with various federal, local, and private sports institutions and clubs with the framework of UAE’s vision and policies set to develop the legal and administrative procedures related to practicing marine sports, closely supervise them, and support all initiatives that aim to spread the culture of marine sports.
