Iranian women's soccer team goalkeeper Zohreh Koudaei revealed plans to sue the Jordanian Football Association for harassment following letter sent to the Asian Football Confederation regarding questioning her gender during the match between Jordan and Iran in the Asian Cup for women.

The 32-year-old Iranian goalkeeper saved two penalties, during a decisive match with Jordan, in Uzbekistan, where she gave her team a 4-2 victory.

The goalkeeper Koudaei has hit back after being accused of being a man by the Jordanian Association.

Koudaei strongly denied the claims and said, “I am a woman. This is bullying from Jordan.

Koudaei has also threatened to sue the Jordanian FA over their accusations.

The victory enabled the Iranian women's football team to qualify for the first time in its history in the Asian Women's Nations Cup.

On the other hand, the Jordanian Football Association clarified the rumours on reports on the Iran women’s team goalkeeper Koudaei claiming a compensation of $1 million, after the Jordanian Association requested to verify her gender, male or female. 

Social networking sites reported that the goalkeeper filed a claim to pay her a compensation of $1 million by the Jordanian Association, due to the psychological damage and the bullying she experienced after the Association requested to verify her gender.

The Jordanian Association said they have not received any claims of compensation from the goalkeeper, according to Jordanian media.

The Association also clarified that they did not receive any response from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) about the gender of the goalkeeper.
