"The history of Ramadan tournaments, which began in 2009, confirms our constant keenness to sustain this championship, which enjoys distinguished participation throughout its long history.

“We started with three games including volleyball, basketball and table tennis in 2009 and witnessed huge participation from UAE clubs, and in the second edition 2010 it was in the same three games, while the third edition witnessed competitions in archery and karate.

Futsal adds the sixth discipline of the games which confirms the growth and rise in the number of sports.

"The tournament held between 2013 to 2016 marked the participation of a large number of professional players. In the 9th edition in 2017, the tournament witnessed the participation of 350 players from 20 sports clubs from various clubs in the country. The championship was marked by the presence of the Kuwaiti Salwa team.

"We are looking forward to another successful edition of the Ramadan Sports Tournament,” she added.
