The visiting Pakistan cricket team officials and players on Saturday spent an afternoon with the families of the victims of the Christchurch’s Al Noor Mosque attack at Hagley Oval in New Zealand.

The cricket team players led by head coach Misbah-ul Haq met the families of the Al Noor Mosque attack victims and offered prayers for them.

The Pakistan cricket team players are in New Zealand where they are playing a Test series, which the Kiwis are leading 1-0. Pakistan will play the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday.

The players, in the video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), can be seen chatting and exchanging gifts with the family members of the victims of the attack at the cricket ground.

"I know that we did not go through the situation that you people did, but we do understand the pain that you feel," Pakistan cricket team batting coach Younis Khan told the families. "We share in your sorrow," the batting coach added.

The families took selfies and photos of their favourit players during the meeting. The families also appreciated the kind gestures of the cricket team.

In March 2019, more than 50 worshippers lost their lives when 28-year-old right-wing extremist Brenton Tarrant attacked two mosques in Christchurch— the Al Noor Mosque and another in the suburb of Linwood.
