Khaseif boost for Al Jazira as captain commits till 2023

Ali Khaseif, one of the most decorated goalkeeper of the region, extended his deal with the present club Al Jazira till 2023.

The signing has come as a boost for the Pride of the Abu Dhabi, with the captain and UAE goalkeeper committing his another two years at the club.

The goalkeeper is a crucial part of the club’s on-field success, as well as playing a key role off pitch as club ambassador for the Pride of Abu Dhabi.

The 33-year-old has been with Al Jazira since 2004 and has made 431 appearances for the club in the local competitions, and won the UAE President Cup 3 times, the Arabian Gulf League 2 times, the UAE Confederation Cup and the Arabian Gulf Cup. He also led Al Jazira to the 4th place in the FIFA Club World Cup 2017.”

This season, he has kept four clean sheets in eight appearances in the Arabian Gulf League.

Speaking about the extension of his deal, Khaseif said: “Al Jazira is my home and I’m so pleased to be extending this deal.”

“We have a strong squad, a team that’s building for the future and I’m excited to help play my part. As club captain, I’m so proud of the role the club plays in the local community, particularly this year during the pandemic. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”

Ali Yousef Al Hammadi, the CEO of the Al Jazira Club, said while commenting on Khaseif’s extension “Ali is an irreplaceable member of Al Jazira family. He was always there when the team won each competition, starting from the UAE Federation Cup in 2006, until the Arabian Gulf League in 2016, and the world still remembers his heroic performances in the FIFA Club World Cup 2017.”
