Jethhwa shines as Geco Blue rout EITC; Dnata trounce ADIB

Riding on extra ordinary bowling performances of Krishna Chandran and Gaffar Hussain Muzaffar Hussain, Dnata trounced ADIB by 121 runs in a Rashid Alleem Premier League (RPL) match on Saturday.

After posting a fighting total of 171/4 in their allotted 20 overs, Dnata bundled out ADIB for a paltry total of 50 runs in just 11.1 overs. Chandran and Hussain took five and three wickets respectively. Chandran conceded five while Hussain gave away 20 runs. ADIB got off to a faltering start and kept on losing the wickets at regular intervals, managing only 50 runs.

Meanwhile, Geco Blue also made light work of EITC, beating them by a whopping 164 runs.

Bharatt Jethhwa smashed a blitzkrieg 66-ball 151 with the help of 11 boundaries and 14 sixes to steer Geco Blue to a huge total of 256/5 in 20 overs and dismissed EITC for a meagre 92 in 16.4 overs.

Jethhwa dominated the hapless bowling attack of EITC and hit the shots all over the ground at his will. Waqas Tariq was the other prominent scorer, who belted 55 off 33 deliveries with the help of 10 fours.

Chasing, EITC were never in the contention and crumbled under pressure. They kept on losing the wickets and failed to get the partnerships going.

In another lopsided affair, Ramada Ajman defeated Sharjah Islamic Bank – Orange (SIBO) by eight wickets.

After restricting SIBO to 147 all out in 19.1 overs, Ramada Ajman went over the line for the loss of just two wickets with 2.5 overs to spare.

Chasing, Ramada Ajman got off to a faltering start and lost two early wickets with just 17 runs on the board.

But Syed Muhammad Ali (65) and Attari (54) shared an unbeaten partnership of 141 runs for the third wicket to take their over the line.

Ali smashed seven fours in 51-ball knock while Attari hit five boundaries and one six during his stint at the crease.

In the fourth match of the day, Sewa routed Sharjah Cement–B by a huge margin of 106 runs.

Umer Bhatt smacked an unbeaten 55-ball 107 and H Nabbi scored 99 off 57 deliveries as Sewa posted a huge total of 247/1 and restricted Sharjah Cement-B to 141 all out in 17.1 overs.
