Top Indian stars to compete at Car Fare Kabaddi Cup Dubai

Some top Indian players will be in action when Car Fare Kabaddi Cup Dubai will get underway at the Dubai Police Officers Club on Friday.

The highly popular third edition of the event will be in association with Dubai Sports Council (DSC). Prominent Indian players including Mangat Singh Mangi and Sandeep Narwal and few Mexico-based players will compete at the Kabaddi Cup.

Six team including Gill Lions, Kubain Kabaddi King, Shere Punjab, Bhagwanpur Warriors, Gurdaspur Lions and Springdale Soldiers will battle out for top honours at the one-day tournament. Gurdaspur Lions are the defending champions and will be looking to secure second straight crown.

The tournament will be begin at 8am with the final game scheduled to be held at 6pm. Winner of the tournament will get Dhs31000 while runners-up receives Dhs21000. Apart from the cup matches, two team comprising Blue-collar worker will also participate in the event.

Kabbadi Cup Dubai is a brain-child of a prominent businessman and founder of Car Fair group KS Bassi.

Speaking at the press conference Bassi said: “We are planning to host India versus Pakistan kabaddi match in the UAE next year.

“Though the match will be a exhibition one but the expat of both the countries would love to see the players of Pakistan and India competing in Dubai.

“We are also planning to increase the number of team for the tournament in coming years,” Bassi added.

“The purpose of organizing Kabaddi tournament in Dubai is to promote our traditions and culture through sports.”

Tarlochan Singh Gill, owner of Gill Lions, said: “ We are positive about our team chances. Players competing in the event are professionals but we hope to perform better this time.”

Gaganpreet Singh CEO Exclusive Vibes Dubai, said. “We are thankful to Dubai Police and Dubai Sports Council for their co-operation to organize this event.”

Sonia Majeed, a young aspiring professional singer based in Dubai, attend the press conference. Majeed, a Global Goodwill Ambassador and winner of International Peace Award, will also attend the Car Fare Kabaddi Cup while serving as celebrity guest of honour.
