Ajman and Khorfakkan exchanged late goals from the spot to play out 1-1 draw at Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium in matchweek 7 of the Arabian Gulf League.

Khofakkan started on the front foot, as they nearly opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Bismark, who received the ball in the midfield and cut on his right, however, his right footed screamer cannoned off the post after a perfectly timed touch by Ali Al Hosani.

Four minutes ahead of the break, the Oranges responded when Vander Vieira robbed the ball from Bismark in a dangerous zone, and sent a well-placed cross towards William Owusu, however, the forward’s header went just wide over the crossbar.

Just one minute after the restart, Vieira was once again the centre of attention for Ajman, as he found Bobker Trawally with a long through pass. The latter controlled the ball calmly, but his effort missed the target by a narrow margin.

In the 72nd minute, Vieira took the ball near the halfway line and advanced towards the box before drilling a left footed low strike that went just inches wide Mohamed Yousef’s left post.

In the first minute of injury time, the Oranges were awarded a penalty kick after Owusu was pulled down inside the box by Ahmed Ibrahim. Vieira sent the ball home from the spot, to make it 1-0.

Excitement continued as the Eagles earned a very late penalty kick after Robson De Paula was brought down by Mohamed Ahmed.

Guimaraes slotted the ball into the back of Mohamed’s net to level things up in the 11th minute of injury time. After the entertaining draw, Ajman moved to the seventh spot with eight points and will face Kalba next matchweek.

Khorfakkan sit at rock bottom of the league table with just three points before hosting Al Dhafra in next round of the league.

Meanwhile, Al Wahda and Al Wasl shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Al Nahyan Stadium.

The game started with a bang as Sebastian Tagliabue put Al Wahda in front just five minutes into the game. The Argentinian went past Lucas Galvao with a clever flick , before slotting ball past Humaid Abdullah.

The Cheetahs responded immediately as they leveled things up in the 17th minute through Khamis Esmaeel, who converted Ali Saleh’s out-swinging cross from the corner kick with a perfectly-directed header.
