Electrifying duels decide futsal c’ship semi-finalists

Quarter-final match action of the Sharjah Ramadan Futsal Championship on Friday.

The seventh day of the Sharjah Ramadan Futsal Championship saw heavy-duty competition among the eight teams who locked horns to secure their spots in the semi-finals, on Friday.  After a night of four thrilling matches, Team Sharjah Police, Khorfakkan, Sport 4 All and Fuhood Zabeel made their way to the next stage.

In the first of match of the evening, Fuhood Zabeel was able to secure the first goal at minute 5 of the game by Humaid Naser, after which, the game pace intensified and Al Bahri’s players doubled down their efforts and secured the tie near the end of the first half by Abdulkareem Jameel.

The second half was a full-on offense mode, with each team trying to secure a goal, and ensure their place at the big 4 table. In the last minute of the game, Brazilian player Williams Olivera ended the game with a superb goal that edged his team over Al Bahri 2-1, and secured their seat at the semi-finals table.

In the second match of the game, Sharjah Police faced the Al Embrator in a very intense battle to secure the second ticket for the semi-finals.

The first half saw fast-paced attacks and fierce defence from both teams until the referee blew the whistle ending the first half goalless.

The second half had both teams intensify their efforts to secure a win. In a swift offense, Al Embrator player Khaled Balhul scored the first goal of the match, turning the heat up on Sharjah Police to retaliate and secured a tie at minute 12 by Walid Al Ghul that lasted until the final whistle sending the game into a penalty shoot-out.

In an epic penalty shoot-out, Goalie Jaber Yousef, and player Mohammed Obaid secured the semi-finals spot for Sharjah Police after defeating the Al Embrator with a final score of 4-3.

In the third match of the evening, the Sport 4 All team put on a thrilling game that kept the crowds on edge throughout the match against APL Group. Bilal Baqali from Sports 4 all delivered a magnificent shot that put his team in the lead temporarily. The early goal was equalled by player Verera Mathious from APL Group team shortly after, sending Sport 4 All players into an unstoppable offense mode that netted them the second goal a minute before the end of first half.

The third goal for team Sport 4 All came by Habib Ghaloum at minute 2 of the second half, followed by Khalfan Al Khamri who scored the second goal for his APL Group. The intensity of the game was at full throttle until Saoud Khalfan scored the fourth goal for Sport 4 All, ending the game with a final tally of 4-2.

The final qualifier game of the day was between Khorfakkan and Al Hamriyah which ended with a final score of 5-3.  The first goal came a minute after the starting whistle when Khorfakkan player Adel Zuthani put his team in the lead. Mahran Rahim from Al Hamriya retaliated fast and drew a tie shortly after, sending both teams into a frenzy with each team trying to edge the other before the final whistle. The pressure from both teams was at its peak throughout the first half that ended with Khorfakkan in the lead 2-1 when Isam Shamikh secured his team second goal.

The second half saw a barrage of goals for both teams that started when Isam Shamikh secured his team’s third goal and his second. Khalid Al Hammadi continued the epic offense and scored twice in one minute putting Khorfakkan in the lead 5-1.

Al Hamriyah fought back hard were able to score two more goals by Iranian Player Bahrouz Bahlul, however, the final whistle put an end to their dreams of the finals, with Khorfakkan securing the final spot in the semi-finals.
