The Dubai Public Prosecution referred an Asian gang of four members to criminal court, for impersonating police officers, brutally assaulting and mugging a man.
The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian duo to 3 years in imprisonment, followed by deportation for impersonating police officers and robbing a man in Dubai.
A GCC national connived with two Asians to steal more than Dhs200,000 from an Asian worker after impersonating policemen. The suspects assaulted the victim while he was at a bus station and fled in a vehicle. The victim filed a report and the suspects were arrested and referred to the Court of First Instance where they were sentenced to one year in jail and the deportation of the Asians.
A 27-year-old man Gulf national was arrested and referred to criminal court, along with other runaway accomplices, for impersonating the identity of undercover police officers and robbing a group of men of over Dhs642,000 in cash and other items.
The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced two Asians to six months in jail to be followed by deportation and fined them Dhs25,000 on charges of attempting to swindle Dhs400,000 from an investor after impersonating policemen, inserting a drug-like substance into the investor’s vehicle and convincing the investor of his involvement in a drug trafficking case.
