Northern Saudi Arabia is experiencing dust storm on Friday evening, it is expected that the storm would head towards the centre, east of the Kingdom and other Gulf States in the coming days.
The government weather agency issued a rare red warning for the area, saying there was a risk of "significant impacts from flooding" that included a "danger to life from fast flowing water, extensive flooding to property and road closures."
The National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, has called on drivers and pedestrians to take all necessary precautions when on roads due to poor visibility owing to the fog and dust formation.
Sand storm and heavy to moderate rain were reported from parts of the UAE on Monday. Manama, Al Dhaid areas in Sharjah and Dafta in Fujairah experienced heavy rainfall on Monday, whereas Al Hiyar, Al Shuwaib and Al faqa areas in Al Ain received moderate rainfall.
