The Dubai Sports Council has completed preparations for the launch of the “Beach Games Festival”, the first of its kind, which is scheduled to take place from Thursday to November 6 at the Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim.
The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge, hosted by Dubai for the first time, kicked off on Saturday with the qualifiers. The eighth challenge tournament of the inaugural Beach Pro Tour season began today and will continue till October 25 at Kite Beach in Dubai.
Following qualifiers the 24-team main draw line-ups of both men’s and women’s categories begin their pool matches at the first of two Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge events in Dubai.
Three women’s teams from the USA booked their berths in the quarter-finals of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge at the Kite Beach in Dubai. The International Volleyball Federation is organizing the tournament with the support of the Dubai Sports Council and in collaboration with the Emirates Volleyball Association.
Both teams now qualified for the second edition of the ANOC World Beach Games, which will take place in Bali, Indonesia, on Aug.5-12, 2023.
Waleed Beshr sent the home crowd into ecstasy midway through the first period as his rasping free-kick found a way under Ibrahim Hassan. Beshr almost turned provider soon after as Rashed Eid met his floated cross at the back post, but headed narrowly wide.
