Pakistan managed 149-7 in their 20 overs with their in-form wicketkeeper batsman Rizwan anchoring the innings after they were sent in to bat.
After the loss of recalled Sharjeel Khan for 18 off the last ball of the fourth over, Rizwan and Azam put on 126 runs for the second wicket before the captain was out for 52 in the third ball of the final over.

The Pakistani skipper, who ruled the rankings for more than 1,000 days, dropped to the second position with 794 points due to lacklustre performance in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. Rizwan has been in sublime form in the Asia Cup, leading the run charts with 192 runs in three matches.

Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was named men's cricketer of the year, while his teammates Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were declared the ODI and T20I cricketers of year respectively. Fatima Sana won the emerging women's cricketer of the year award.
Pujara made 203 — his third century in three matches for Sussex — with wicketkeeper Rizwan marking his home debut for the south coast club with 79.
The 29-year-old had a prolific run in 2021, becoming the first-ever cricketer in the history of T20 cricket to amass over 2,000 runs in a calendar year. In 45 innings, the right-hander amassed 2,036 runs at a fine average of 56.55.
