“Jasprit Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the fourth Test owing to personal reasons,” the board said in a statement. “Accordingly, the fast bowler has been released and he will not be available for selection for the fourth Test.”
The BCCI also announced that Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel will be backup players for Asia Cup 2022. Asia Cup 2022 will be played in the UAE from Aug.27 to Sept.11.

The lower back injury kept Bumrah, 29, out of action since September but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said his operation last month "was successful and he remains pain-free."
