"The scale of devastation is massive and requires an immense humanitarian response for 33m people. For this I appeal to my fellow Pakistanis, Pakistan expatriates and the international community to help Pakistan in this hour of need,” minister said.
The first batch constituted three plane trips to Karachi carrying 33 tonnes of humanitarian relief, as well as shelter items from the UNHCR stockpiles in Dubai aboard C130 military planes.
"Humanitarian work in the UAE has become a purely authentic approach, and the behaviour of the UAE and its honourable people is in adherence to the approach of Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.."
According to the Prime Minister Office, the consignment arranged by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) consists of family tents, tarpaulins, blankets and emergency medicines.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed that the UAE seeks to provide various possible support in such situations to affirm solidarity with all brotherly and friendly countries in crises that require concerted efforts to mitigate their effects.
The UAE has, so far, sent search and rescue teams, which comprise 92 members, to Turkey. The UAE's search and rescue teams are continuing their efforts despite the harsh weather conditions.
