UAE airlines Emirates and Etihad announced that they are suspending their operations through Iranian airspace over the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.
Starting on Wednesday, guests on most Etihad flights will be able to enjoy reading the e-book, which relates the remarkable legacy of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid in public service.
The airline, which had aimed to partially resume passenger flights from May 1, said in a statement all scheduled services would remain grounded until May 16 at the earliest. Earlier in the day, it had said the suspension would last until May 15.

After the initial announcement of a 12-hour shutdown, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) resumed flight operations. NAIA management announced on Tuesday that a number of recovery flights have started flying from this airport.

Etihad also announced that it would operate a Boeing 787 ‘eco flight’ from Abu Dhabi to Brussels during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January 2020, incorporating a wide range of environment-focused initiatives.
"This provision of aid by the UAE comes as a gesture of solidarity with countries seeking to bolster their fight against COVID-19. The UAE stands with the leadership and people of Ukraine during this challenging moment that the international community must face as a united front," said Salem Ahmed Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Ukraine.
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has transported humanitarian aid from the government of the United Arab Emirates to 54 destinations.
