The Ismailia Criminal Court in Egypt sentenced Abdel Rahman Nazmi, known as "Dabour" to death by hanging for deliberately beheading a compatriot and attempting to kill two others publicly in a street in Ismailia city.
A Pakistani man sentenced to life in prison in 2019 for strangling his sister, a model on social media, was acquitted of murder Monday after his parents pardoned him under Islamic law, an attorney for the man's family said.
The release of the convicts has been the subject of much debate in India, and Congress condemned the court decision as "totally unacceptable" and "completely erroneous."
