Hong Kong pro-democracy activists plan sit-ins at shopping malls and student rallies on Saturday after a night in which protesters took to the hills to form lantern-carrying human chains, the latest demonstrations in months of unrest.
Tens of thousands from the residents to tourists thronged leading malls across Dubai to grab and became the first to enjoy the bundles of sale promotions as part of the month-long Dubai Shopping Festival.
Shoppers in all emirates are now glad at the reopening of their favourite shopping destinations after over two months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With all safety measures, including the sanitisation guidelines approved by the government for the residents, two major malls in Ras Al Khaimah have been reopened.
The Committee said the decision is part of the gradual reopening of economic activities in the emirate and efforts to restore normalcy, while ensuring precautionary measures are strictly enforced.
The decision by the UAE government to allow those over 60 years to shopping malls is a welcome step in the right direction.
In accordance with the announcement by the Supreme Committee of Disaster Management around easing restrictions on a number of activities for children under 12, Al-Futtaim Malls welcomed back its younger visitors this weekend with special kid-sized masks to ensure they are kept safe when shopping in both Dubai Festival City Mall and Festival Plaza.
Residents in the emirate are glad to see the opening of their favorite shopping destinations across the city. The malls in Dubai opened their doors after a month, strictly implementing guidelines and precautionary measures issued by local authorities.
The Department of Economic Development in Ajman has issued on Tuesday a circular to the owners of shopping malls, commercial centers, and barber shops and men’s and women’s grooming salons in respect of reopening centers and salons as of Monday, April 27, and following the “Guidelines and Protocols for Reopening of Economic Activities” which cites all the precautions and preventive measures and requisitions to limit the spread of Corona virus “Covid-19”.
The stringent curbs on public movement will now be limited to the period between 10pm and 6am.
