Global Village has been making sustained progress as it bids to break 25 Guinness World Records titles to mark the 25th anniversary. The latest title was claimed on New Year’s Eve to the delight of everybody in attendance who witnessed the countdown to 2021 on the largest underwater mesh screen in the world.
The first record was set for the longest-running fireworks show, which ran continuously for 35 minutes with fireworks launched from 16 towers. The second was for the longest Girandola fireworks show in the world.
The 25-year-old died instantly in the incident in Boofzheim, close to France's eastern border with Germany, the regional government said on Friday. Another man was treated for facial injuries after the firework exploded as they were inspecting it.

"Dubai Police are always keen on protecting society from those who take advantage of the Holy Month and the joyful Eid to illegally sell firecrackers and endanger the society," Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement that at least nine Los Angeles police personnel and one from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Control were injured. They said that injuries were minor.
