The Public Works Department in Ras Al Khaimah revealed that over 12,000 vehicles travelled to the summit of Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the UAE, during the Eid Al Adha holidays while the environmental violations logged by the department’s patrols service amounted to 88 during this period.
Different rains hit sporadic areas of the country on Wednesday, when it started to fall at 1.30am on Al Samha, Saih Shuaib, Al Bahia, Al Shahama, and different regions of Abu Dhabi.
The first Mountain Leader training courses will launch on January 15, 2022. Hajar Mountain Adventures also provides activities in rock climbing, abseiling and dry canyoneering adventure days.
The Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department announced that as many as 17,000 cars used the Jebel Jais mountain road.
A Keralite nurse Tintu Paul, based in Ras Al Khaimah died in a horrific car accident with her family while returning from their vacation in the Jabel Jais Mountain.
It is believed that over 30,000 visitors have ascended the Jebel Jais on the first and second days of the Eid Al Adha and the numbers is expected to increase on the third day and final Eid day.
Jabal Jais in Ras Al Khaimah recorded the lowest temperature of 1.9°C at 4:15 am on Sunday. Jabal Al Rahba in RAK also recorded 4.2°C. and Jabal Mabrah recorded 4.6 °C, while Rukna in the city of Al Ain in Abu Dhabi, recorded 6.7°C.
Light rain began at 8:30 am on Sakmakam and Al Souda in Fujairah, while it was moderate rain on Merbeh, Al Qaryah, Dhudna, and separate areas in Fujairah. It was also moderate on Al Nahwa, Khorfakkan, and Al Suhub rest house in Sharjah, as well as Hatta in Dubai, and other scattered areas in the country.
The Ras Al Khaimah Media Office shared a video and said, “Very early morning His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, on his daily mountain ride at his beloved Jebel Jais.”
Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the PSD, said, “The increasing turnout of visitors to Jebel Jais throughout the year motivates us to continue developing the services provided by raising the efficiency of the infrastructure for all the rest areas, in terms of illumination, restaurants and others.”
