The service is to be added to distinguished services provided by police, which also aimed at achieving the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior to enhance customer happiness.
The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced a manager and a visitor, both European nationals, to 6 months imprisonment followed by deportation for forging a driving licence in Dubai.
The embassy in a circular said that anyone who wishes to renew his or her permit must visit the mission on working hours. It also said that the authorities in India must have issued the permit for the concerned person.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has responded to the requests of 4,377 motorists applying to swap their automatic driving licences for manual ones.
Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, endorsed a package of smart initiatives for improving and sustaining RTA’s services.
RTA said on Twitter, “Did you get the Golden Visa & want to get a driving license in #Dubai? Present your previous driving license approved in your country & issue a new one from RTA at the driving institutes after passing the knowledge & road tests without needed training.”
The MoU, signed at Expo 2020 Dubai, aims to enable the use of driving licences issued by relevant official authorities in the two countries during the visits and residence of their citizens.
The new service will reduce the flow of customers to the service centres, adding that it can be obtained by accessing the website of the Sharjah Driving Institute (www.sdi.ae) after completing the prescribed theoretical lessons.
