Pakistan will ban air travel for anyone without a COVID-19 vaccine certificate from Aug.1 and will require all public sector workers to get vaccinated by Aug.31, the government announced on Thursday along with a host of other restrictions.
"Happy to report that the target we had set for 1 million vaccinations in a day was crossed," Asad Umar, the minister in-charge for COVID-19 operations, said in a tweet.
The UAE authorities urged individuals and residents who have taken vaccine doses outside the country to register with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) “Vaccination Certificate” to return to the UAE.
Umar said that although the situation was comparatively better now, the danger had not subsided and stressed the need for accelerating the vaccination process in the country. He warned that the areas with low percentage of vaccination would again be put under lockdown.
