The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced on Monday that it conducted 82,000 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
The new case will be a setback for Thailand, which has been credited with keeping the highly contagious virus under control, while maintaining months of immigration curbs that have devastated its tourism-reliant economy. It has removed most of its internal coronavirus restrictions.
India added nearly 2 million coronavirus cases in August alone. Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai are its worst-hit cities, but new hot spots continue to feed surges in cases in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states.

Al Hammadi announced that during this period, 793,642 coronavirus, COVID-19, tests were performed, a nine percent increase compared to the previous week.
