Angry demonstrators and relatives of the victims gathered at the site of the shootings, chanting: "Civil war, now!” Protesters said police fired when demonstrators, including many coca leaf growers who backed Bolivia’s first indigenous president, tried to cross a military checkpoint.
Others were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition, and some are in critical but stable condition, the TV stations reported.
Six people including a police officer and two suspects were killed during an hours-long shootout across a New York suburb not far from the Statue of Liberty, local officials said.
