The mystery over the death of the actor-model intensified as the police have not found anything homicidal in nature from the place of the incident, which took place on Friday night.
“He was in love with a girl but her father turned down his marriage proposal repeatedly after which Shahzad was really depressed and he committed suicide,” the victim’s brother Sajjad said in a complaint he had filed.
Between July 26 to Aug.22, 2020, the average number of visits in girls of this age was 26 per cent higher than the same period in 2019. During Feb.21 to March 20, 2021, it had shot up an alarming 51 per cent compared to the same period in 2020.
Police also said that Vasantha had convinced her children that she would take them to the place of their father and mentioned it in the death note. The bodies of Vasantha and daughter Nishvika were found hanging together and her son's body was found hanging separately.
“I don’t know what he will say about me if I die...I suffered a lot... at last, I was able to slap him once, had I not done that I would be doing wrong to my conscience. Suhail, his mother and his father are criminals. They must get maximum punishment."
In a separate incident, a homeopathy doctor at Theni in Tamil Nadu, Dr Srinivasan, 50, committed suicide and his family alleged that the Joint Director of Health Services had tortured him for bribe money.
Citing the causes, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Wadettiwar said that the farmers’ suicides are reported due to the high debt-burden an their inability to repay, damage caused due to natural calamities, soil infertility and also personal/family reasons.
The boy was 18 years old and the girl was 17 years old. Her parents vehemently opposed the marriage and she had narrated her ordeal to the boy. Both had run away from their respective homes six days ago, police said, adding that the missing complaint was lodged only two days ago.
The suicide note read, "Papa I love you, in the next birth will do something fruitful, please forgive me. My wife and her mother are responsible for my taking this extreme step."
