Do you remember when films used to give direct messages about life, study, love, hardship, and other messages about the real world? Those films were called a masterpiece, because they taught us about how life is, and it was relatable to every audience.
Hollywood films like “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “The Truman Show” and “To Kill a Mocking Bird” served as films with strong, straightforward messages. Meanwhile, Bollywood films like 3 Idiots, Munnabhai MBBS, Dil Chahta Hai etc, were prime examples in Asian cinema.
Nowadays, you would find films, which are only for entertainment purposes, that are blockbusters, while emotional films will most likely face a backlash, or flop in the box office, or maximum be a hit.
Moreover, films with big star power do not work anymore with mature audiences, because we do not need films with a hugely known cast – we need talent, story and pure cinema.
