There are a range of unusual University courses available including fringe studies, found by a quick Google search such as “Harry Potter and the Age of Illusion,” “Taylor Swift and Her World” (Harvard University), and “The Science of Superheroes” (University of California) but apparently not basket weaving either underwater or on ground.
These courses might help to get students to undertake tertiary studies but the enrolments in an Australian course "AHC33924 Certificate III in Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation and Production" haven't been that high.
There are bound to be people interested in the course but they may have lost their way in many ways. They could however enjoy their workplace experiences. Tertiary student places are expensive and maybe they should be used for more serious courses.
