My first salary was spent at one of my all-time favourite malls years back. It used to be a big quest each time I raced by Lamcy Plaza, wondering when will this iconic shopping mall resume its services to the public.
Though a devastating fire in March 2017 forced its closure, Lamcy Plaza’s legacy is far from over. Since I have relocated from Karama to Nahda Dubai I do pass by it every day as I need to head to work and during my return after work in the evenings, I used to feel shattered seeing the building and the surroundings so unlit.
This was one of my all-time favourite malls and I cannot recall the countless times my brother and I used to head for a stroll, especially the time when my brother would head for visit from India for holidays.
Some of the best memories we had so far together where he would be busy shopping for his trip back home whilst I would be doing some window shopping.
Very soon Lamcy “The Plaza” will be welcoming the public and I for sure don’t want to miss the inauguration. Just like the others I cannot wait to see what’s in store and I would not sacrifice to head down to the Plaza even if I am far away.
