The recent flooding in Nepal has jolted the country financially and destroyed millions of homes belonging to poor people. It is time to help our Nepalese brothers and sisters during their difficult times (“Nepal estimates flood reconstruction cost at $4.78 billion,” Sept.13, Gulf Today website).
The report published in print and social media, stating that Nepal estimates the cost of the damage at $4.78 billion, requires the world’s attention. I am sure the world will come forward to help rebuild the destroyed homes in Nepal.
This time shall pass. The United Arab Emirates is a shining example of providing humanitarian assistance to Nepal. The world should follow the UAE’s example and help the Nepalese government and its people by contributing to the estimated flood reconstruction cost of $4.78 billion.
