Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been ruled out of the first Test against England because of a hand injury. Babar was struck on the middle finger of his right hand while batting against the West Indies earlier this month and was hit in the same area again during a warm-up game in Beckenham last week.
Fortunately, there is no fracture, and Pakistan will be hoping that he recovers in time for the second Test. Babar’s absence is a very disappointing development for Pakistan and especially for his huge fan base.
He is one of Pakistan’s most important and admired batters, and many fans follow Pakistan matches specifically to watch him bat. His injury has therefore come as a major disappointment to supporters, who will be hoping to see their star batter back on the field as soon as possible. Hope he comes back in the second Test match. I am also a huge Babar fan. I have been following him since he started playing international cricket. He is the best batter Pakistan has at the moment undoubtedly.
