It’s summer. Summer means hot weather. As the Almighty has created all seasons to benefit humanity, we should respect summer as we enjoy the other seasons, and be prepared to keep ourselves healthy by actively adopting precautionary measures that keep us safe from the scorching heat (“High temperatures, spotty rain likely over the next 15 days, says weather body,” Aug.1, Gulf Today).
According to the report, The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) noted that August acts as a continuation of July, maintaining high temperatures as the country remains influenced by the Indian monsoon low. Additionally, thermal lows from the southwest contribute to significant temperature increases, especially due to the presence of eastern mountains.
I would like to share some precautionary measures that are not so difficult to adopt in our daily lives because the show must go on whether the weather is cool or hot. From a medical point of view, adults need about 1.5 to 2 litres of fluids daily, but when it comes to hot weather, they need to increase their water intake. Drinking water regularly throughout the day, even before you feel thirsty, is key to staying healthy and flourishing during the summer.
Stay indoors during the peak heat hours of the day. Wear light-coloured, loose-fitting cotton or linen clothes to allow air to circulate over your skin. Precautionary measures will always help keep the human body fit to carry out daily routine work, office work, and business activities for a living.
