Ray of hope

US President Donald Trump’s telephonic conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin for nearly 90 minutes, as well as with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has brought a ray of hope for lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine (“Trump offers to help Putin find deal with Ukraine, also speaks with Zelensky,” July5, Gulf Today website).

According to the report, US President Donald Trump, speaking to Russian leader Vladimir Putin by telephone, offered to help find ⁠a solution to the Ukraine war, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said in comments made public early on Sunday.

The Russia-Ukraine war has now entered its fourth year and has only resulted in the loss of precious lives, widespread destruction, and huge financial losses, not only to the economies of Russia and Ukraine but also to the global economy.

The world is facing a huge challenge in terms of climate change, and the wars in different parts of the world have added more misery to the global economy.

There’s nothing impossible to achieve in this world. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I hope the spirit of peace will prevail among the warring countries.

The telephonic conversations between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of the warring countries are a ray of hope for a more peaceful world.
