The month of June 2026 has become lethal and harsh for European countries, as reports stated that France, the Netherlands, and Belgium recorded 3,700 excess deaths during the June heatwave that sent temperatures soaring across Europe. Authorities have warned that the numbers are preliminary and could rise (“France, Belgium and Netherlands report 3,700 excess deaths during June heatwave,” July 3, Gulf Today website).
It is just the start of summer, and climate change has forced European countries to call an emergency meeting to discuss the current situation caused by the scorching heatwave, which has made life miserable for their citizens.
Climate change is not an issue for just one part of the world but for the entire world. European countries are feeling the intense summer heat because they are not used to it.
Climate change has made life difficult around the globe. Scorching heat, wildfires, flooding, and unexpected heavy rains in different parts of the world have claimed a huge number of precious lives and placed a heavy burden on the world’s economy.
It is time to unite and fight against climate change, and on this important issue, wealthy countries have the primary responsibility to play their vital role.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I am sure the world has the capability to fight against climate change and save the planet from its disasters.
